We had 3 experiences that we are still trying to understand ourselves that might be worth passing along. We ended up taking notes because we experienced the batteries on 3 different cameras and two different digital records all draining within 30 seconds of each other and were left with only pen and paper.

I suppose that the first thing to note is that after stopping on Ufo Hill for an hour we made our way down towards the southern gate figuring that we would do a loop of the area prior to stopping at the Southern Vantage and then on up to East Gate.

As we made our way down towards the Southern Gate are we experienced our radio acting up. I was about to turn it off when my son said “did the radio just say “stop stop”? We pulled over to the side of the road and turned up the radio. We gave it about five minutes and nothing happened so we took back off leaving the radio on. We had just started moving when the word LEAVE came over the radio. It was loud, mechanical and direct. It was loud enough to where it startled me.

I don’t know what caused it but it was very clearly the word “leave”. Then all of the sudden our radio started working normally again.

We drove up to where the southern end of the property is (south gate) and stopped. We got our cameras and recorders out and were setting everything up so that we could go out and take a bunch of pictures and talk about what we were seeing. We have one video camera, a couple of still cameras and we decided to take a digital recorder with us to use as a note pad.

As we prepped our gear we both thought we heard walking in the snow by us. I believe it was probably a deer or some other large animal but nothing too unusual. We are approaching this experience as the novices that we are but with both of us having military backgrounds I would say that we are open minded but a little skeptical or were up until last night (skeptical).

We grabbed our gear and began to start taking pictures when the screen/viewfinder on the camera I was going to use went blank. I had charged all of the batteries and double checked them prior to leaving our hotel room so at first I was just mad figuring I had done something wrong in the charging process.

Then my son said that the batteries in his camera were dead too. I picked up my other camera and it wouldn’t turn on. The digital recorder was also dead. They all were on and working we took them out of the car and they were all dead when we went to use them. I guess it could be a coincidence but it was weird that they all happened at the same time.

We decided to go to Southern Vantage for a bit. Neat place to watch the property from but since it was our first time there we only spent about a half hour looking around. We weren’t exactly certain of where we should be looking so we left for East Gate.

We pulled up to East Gate using only our fog lamps for light and approached really slow. We stopped about 50ft before the first of the concrete barricades and shut off our engine. We saw the two motion sensor lights in the trees and decided to stay in the car for awhile.

After about 20 minutes we started hearing a humming sound. I thought that it might have been a plan or a jet somewhere but there was nothing in the sky. It was about 2am when this started happening so there wasn’t much road traffic around to the best of my knowledge. The humming got louder and lasted for about 25 minutes. It sounded sort of distant but not too far off from where we were. There is likely a common or man made explanation for it but it was weird that the only time and place we heard the sound was while we were at the East Gate.

During this time I noticed something moving down the path behind the gate. It was a ways off and at first I thought it was a deer or elk. But it seemed like it was trying to be staying to the left side of the road along the trees/brush. It moved too deliberately to be a deer in my experience. It then crossed quickly over to the right side of the path and sort of hunkered down.

As it was crossing the path it clearly looked like a person in black gear. I think it was likely security but we hadn’t tripped the motion sensors or left our car or even gone beyond the first barricade so I have no idea why they were there. It was after 2am and -7f outside, why not just watch us from the warmth of a trailer

I got out of the car and took my little laser pointer and pointed the light at the last place I saw the man and there was nothing there. My son and I both know that we saw the man moving along and also know that we saw him stop and sort of move off the path to watch us. I didn’t see him leave and neither did my son.

Like I said, I believe that it was likely a security person but it was weird that they were there and then they weren’t. It was dark enough to where I couldn’t see if there were any trails but he could easily have just slipped back down a trail after seeing that we weren’t doing anything.

We both saw a light. It was white and the size of a flashlight moving through the tree’s of back off to the left of the east gate shortly after. It didn’t reflect against the snow nor was it pointed at us directly at any time either.

We left shortly after that and are getting ready to hit the road today in a little bit.

I guess that there are several explanations for what we experienced. Nothing happened that couldn’t easily be explained away by coincidence or natural processes. I will say that neither of us scare too easily but we both had times during the night were we were very uncomfortable and as we left the area returned to feeling perfectly fine again.

Enough weird stuff happened to where we are coming back towards the middle of next week to spend a few days. We will be better prepared next time to capture our experiences and I will let you know if anything happens.
